Dish Antenna

A large dish antenna designed to operate at GHz frequencies needs to be designed carefully in order to be sufficiently rigid. As well as a requirement for low mass, needed for operation on a two-axis turret, the structure needs to be rigid. The distortion of the dish under gravity can severely impair it's properties at these very short wavelengths.
