Magnetic Coupling

Best  Solution used a 2d finite element model to design a magnetic coupling, and produce some torque vs slip speed curves. The coupling was based on an induction motor principle, but with rotating permanent magnets instead of a wound stator.

 

The torque transfer characteristics of the coupling were of particular interest to our customer, and by adjustment of the rotor bar and slot geometry, this could be adjusted to meet a specific requirement.
