Best Solution's customer was a manufacturer of pneumatically operated valves. Some in-service failures of a casting had been experienced, and Best Solution used a parametric model to trim some of the casting dimensions to reduce stress levels in the regions where failures had occurred.

The use of a parametric model enabled a solution to be found by inviting our customer to our offices and running several iterations of the model interactively. In this way, the peak stresses were reduced, and our customers guidance ensured that the modifications incurred minimal tooling changes.
