Toroidal Torque Motor
This style of torque actuator is toroidally wound over a slot-less laminated iron core, and was originally developed for very low cogging applications such as stabilised camera platforms.
Best Solution modelled the actuator to establish the angular limits over which the out put torque was constant, and also to investigate the effect of magnetic saturation of the stator core. The 3d model was parametric, enabling rapid changes to the geometry to be made.
